What Is AYB?
Adopt Your Block is a commitment to show up for your block with greater consistency.
Stewardship means maintaining connection and follow-through within an agreed scope.
It does not create ownership of the block, enforcement authority, or control over neighbors.
City departments, property owners, and other institutions remain responsible for their own duties.

It is about helping build visible rhythm, stronger follow-through, and neighborhood pride over time.
Who this is for
The stewardship role is for current Lake Como residents supporting the block where they live, within a scope agreed with KLCB.
People connected to Lake Como, who live elsewhere can contribute time, expertise, resources, or other support to resident-led work.

What to expect
Expressing interest starts a readiness review.
Before placement, KLCB confirms your block relationship, completes common On My Block orientation and AYB-specific preparation with you, and establishes an appropriate support route.
As a steward, you agree to:

Maintain a realistic rhythm of connection around an agreed block scope.

Invite voluntary participation and share current, verified information.

Coordinate defined actions and connect the appropriate KLCB role or responsible institution when needed.

Keep a useful record of meaningful actions, handoffs, and what happens next.
You do not have to perform every role yourself. You may ask for help, adjust your scope or rhythm, pause, or leave the role without penalty.
