Keep Lake Como Beautiful asks public institutions and community partners to make decisions, responsibilities, processes, and outcomes easier for residents to understand. We believe we should apply the same standard to ourselves.
Keep Lake Como Beautiful (KLCB) is a place-based program of Proof of Life Community Development Corporation (PLCDC). PLCDC provides the legal, fiduciary, financial, governance, and organizational structure behind KLCB’s work.
How KLCB
is governed
KLCB is not a separate corporation or a separate 501(c)(3) organization.
Proof of Life Community Development Corporation is the nonprofit institution responsible for KLCB’s governance, finances, contracts, charitable funds, legal compliance, and organizational oversight.
KLCB carries the Lake Como place-based mission, resident pathways, programs, projects, and community-facing work. PLCDC’s Board of Directors remains the governing body with ultimate fiduciary authority.
What accountability looks like here
Transparency is more than posting documents.
KLCB and PLCDC are building practical accountability through accessible information, resident and participant feedback, public reporting, documented outcomes, clear decision boundaries, and opportunities for residents to understand what happened and what comes next.
PLCDC’s governance framework also calls for an annual public Community Report Meeting. When KLCB is an active principal place-based program, the State of Lake Como may serve as that annual community reporting forum.
